Shit Howdy we’ve got 12 bands playing the Bladen County Showcase at MusicFest this year. We’re on Friday, Sept 5th at Ron Toms:
Team Evil, Blue Horns, Little Pieces, Dakota Slim, Autopilot, Invisible Rockets, The Skinnyz, Oh Captain My Captain, Kurt Hagardorn
Featuring: The Love Language, Anders Parker, and The Mommyheads.

At RonToms, 600 E. Burnside. Starting at 9:00. We’ve got six bands playing: Kurt Hagardorn, Oh Captain My Captain, The Skinnyz, Invisible Rockets, Ritchie Young of Loch Lomond, and Autopilot. There will be a giant wheel with all six band names on it. We will spin the wheel, whichever band it lands on jumps in the pit, plays a song, and gets out. We keep spinning the wheel like this for 2 hours offering you a lovely mix of BCR sounds.
Miracle Lake Studios is at Skyler’s grandfather’s house in WA. He, Skyler, plays in Point Juncture, WA and a band called Team Evil. There is much talk in Portland of his stature.

We will be releasing a full length this fall for the sometimes accordion/drums, sometimes guitar/drums duo of Adrienne Hatkin and Paul Sealey.
The guys are recording right now, here in Portland Oregon. Type Foundry Studios and Magic Button. Chris Funk of the Decemberists is Producing. It’s sure to be grand.
And they’re going to play their first show in 10 years this September at MusicFestNW.

Anders Parker–As a one man show, Anders takes up more room and sound onstage than one of those steel cage spheres that dudes ride motorcycles in at the circus. He’s got a trick box of noises that ebb into asylum sounds and flow spent, vis-a-vis a giant Dunlop volume pedal. Some of Anders songs remind me of Lady Ashley from The Sun Also Rises. Some remind me of Fuckhead from Jesus’ Son. Mostly I think of the midget’s mantra from Fire Walk With Me: “Give me all my pain and sorrow”. -mb
